Design Process

There are thousands of small flowers, bushes, and trees to choose from. This can be overwhelming when you have to consider soil types, sun, shade, water levels, animals, and more. 

Don’t know where to start?

Allow us to offer recommendations on plants that fit your landscape’s shape, aesthetic, and weather conditions. We start with an on site meeting, walking the property handpicking what plants fit your landscape. We are always happy to take the lead, while receiving your input on colors, sizes, etc. This process is very flexible and open ended, feel free to share with us your dream garden vision.

Supplying and Installation Process 

Once final selections are made we put it into action. We always purchase, deliver, and install the plants for you. This leaves you hands off, your vehicle dirt free, and your back feeling great!

As soon as we arrive with the plants, we confirm placement by setting the pot in its rough position. Once everything checks out, old roots, rocks, and other debris are cleared. Then holes are dug extra wide to allow for loose soil and compost to be filled in. This helps roots to establish and plants to grow healthier. Lastly, the area is back filled with loose soil and watered. If necessary trees are secured with stakes and twine, this ensures the trunk grows straight. 

Watering and Maintenance 

Once plantings are installed, you are supplied with a watering schedule and pruning/trimming recommendations. Here at Max’s Lawn and Landscaping, along with our project based services, we offer maintenance services such as trimming, fall prep, spring prep and more. 

Optional Mulching and Landscape Edging

If you are looking to take your plant installation to the next level we recommend going with our mulch installation service and landscape edging. Mulch adds to the aesthetic, but more importantly is beneficial to the health of your new plants. Whether it be a natural shovel edge or a stone edge, some form of edging between your landscape bed and grass line is crucial. These two services tie the landscape together and make your property stand out!
